In our ward parenting fireside, we want to discuss challenges we face as parents and learn from each other. The bishopric invites to to share topic ideas anonymously.

We are planning to have a ward parenting fireside at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, April 30. The intent of this fireside is to discuss questions, issues, or challenges that many of us as parents face and to learn from one another. Please note that the purpose of the fireside is not to make anyone feel inadequate as a parent or judged in any manner. Every family situation and every child is unique. There are no perfect earthly parents and no perfect children.
If there is a specific question or topic you would like to be discussed at the fireside, please submit it using the anonymous link below. (Anonymous means we won’t know who submitted the question or topic unless you decide to print your name with your question). While we plan to have a panel discussion, there also will be opportunities for those in the audience to share ideas and thoughts. Please note that we plan to keep the fireside to somewhere between 60-75 minutes. Therefore, it likely will be impossible to address every question submitted. However, depending on how the fireside goes and whether there is an interest, we may schedule a second fireside in the future to discuss additional topics.
As an example, here are some topics we currently are considering:
Cell phones, computers, tablets, etc: How do we guard against excessive screen time or monitor usage?
Along the same lines, how do we best protect our kids from pornography and other inappropriate material?
How do we help foster resilience in our kids?
What worked for you as a parent and what would you change if you had a do-over?
How do we help a child who struggles with anxiety?
How do we best love and support adult children (or minor children) who have strayed from the gospel?
Again, these are just a few examples. Please feel free to submit your questions anonymously below.
Thank you.
